lost jakarta publishers.

Lost Jakarta Publishers is a new (2019) and independent publishing company. Our first book 250 YEARS IN OLD JAKARTA has been published in December 2019. We plan to release more books in the future with an emphasis on the history of Indonesia, and in particular that of Jakarta, and the islands of Java and Bali. We are also active on social media where we regularly post rare photos and forgotten stories about the history of Jakarta, as well as atmospheric videos from the era of the Dutch East Indies.

our Story.

Before Lost Jakarta Publishers, the name “Lost Jakarta” already existed on social media. The Facebook page of Lost Jakarta, where we publish old forgotten photos and rare stories of Jakarta’s history, became an instant success.

Lost Jakarta has now more than 24,000 followers. With the upcoming release of the book 250 YEARS IN OLD JAKARTA we wanted to integrate all activities and create an interactive Lost Jakarta Publishers platform where people come together to enjoy tales and pictures of Jakarta and share stories with each other, whether it is via the book, or through our multimedia channels. Join us too!
